1.The history of Miralube development

 

Everyone has enough experience, additives of lube oils have not well-spoken and awaited effect, neither to extend engine lives nor enlarge the engine power.

 

It’s the reason Shalom co., LTD has decided to develop new sort of additives. This should really increase the engine power, reduce friction, therefore reduce  fuel consumption.

 

After enormous trial and error, experiences and efforts, Shalom co., LTD realized this super lube additives. This, invented under fully new concept, has incredible high efficiency,  so that we called this miracle of lube additives (MIRALUBE)

 
 
2.The secret of Miralube

 

Many inventors and research engineers of tribology tried to take usually materials like hydrocarbonic, polymeric of Teflon sort with well-known lubricating metal particles.

 

Our invention look another way after our own special experiments, we believed that our additives may have wonderful efficiency only through the blending of pure petroleum based molecules.

 

The target of our invention laid on the effect; the lubricated metal surface characters should be changed through our additives, and we had success with this new idea – chemical, tribological effect.

 

The results of our researches explain that our Miralube generates new secondary microlayers at surface, these microlayers, with metal surface chemically combined like quasi welded or implanted, avoid direct contact (friction) with another metal partner.

 

This new created microlayer avoid any sort of metal-metal friction,Independent on temperature, load, and any accelerating movement.

 

This phenomena shows fully new efficiency. Through this, you extend the life of engine and/or equipment at least three times longer and reduce energy consumption at least 15-30%

 
 
3.Characteristics of Miralube

A.   Resists against oxidation, chemical and ionic corrosions, immunity against any sort of aggressive chemicals.

 

B.   Newly generated secondary microlayers of metal surface have new surface integrity

 

C.   Enable the dry start-up.

     In the case, the lubricant oil exhausted by leakage, miralube

     guarantees dry start-up. No wonder, then these  secondary layer can make

     metal-metal contact as if there were lube oil.

 

D.  Friendly mixing and blending with any sort of lube oils and etc.

    You can mix this with engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil and they have

     heir own characters, not disadvantaged by Miralube.

     

E.   Miralube contains none of any metallic and polymeric compounds.

     sually other additives are blended with metallic and polymeric Compounds  like Teflon, molybdenums, graphite or other particles.

 

Perhaps in short term, those compounds and particles can help lubrication efficiency, but in long term, this particles and compounds aged and changed to hard, surface scratching hazardous character

 
 
4.Application of Miralube

A.   1991, Department of Defence, USA reported the additives with PTFE(POLYTETRA FLUORO ETHYLENE) or similar  particles can damage machinery and equipment, in contrary of PR from this additive producers. Os that combat equipment and vehicles may not use these PTFE additives. DU PONT company, inventor of this PTFE, recognized these problems and reported officially that PTFE additives may not be used for tribological materials.

5.Application Method

In general, addition of 5 ~10% to using lubricants oil can fullfil the function of Miralube efficiency and by heavy duty, like high temperature and high pressure about 10% addition would be enough.

 

6.  Merits of Application

Miralube generates chemically combined secondary surface microlayer, so that remarkable reduction of friction, wear, material fatigues, and etc. would be appeared.

 

*  Acidic components after combustion would be neutralized by Miralube There fore, NOx and 

    Sox amount would be reduced.

*  Even old engines and machinery would have new surface layer caused by Miralube additives,

    machinery life and energy consumption changed to as new machinery,

          TIMKEN METHOD result, MIRALUBE additives improved the performance as follows.

              (a)             LOAD FACTOR when added to engine oil.

                  -         load factor : improved 4 ~6 times

                  -         wear area : improved 12 ~30 times

              (b)            LOAD FACTOR when added to industrial oil

                  -         load factor : improved 3 ~8 times

                  -         wear area : improved 12 ~30 times

              (c)             LOAD FACTOR compared with MoS2 and PTFE variants additives

                  -         load factor : improved 4 ~8 times

Case 1.  Problem: damaged compressor caused by leak lube oil.

            Machine state  : repaired cylinder, 10 HP compressor

            Miralube application : In order to prove Miralube power,

                                          Added Miralube of lube oil, 72

             Result   : lube oil carried out fully and once more 72

Case 10. Problem: military application the commander, staff officers of supply and operation of the first armored brigade recognized and cerificated Miralube power between Feb. to Apr, 1994 through following experience

               a.      Engine power increased, started easily.

                ①    Pressure test for the engine cylinders of the K-1 tank; pressure was increased by 1.8 BAR,5,6% after 15BN 302 was mixed with Miralube

                    Voltage drop test for the bettery of the K-1 tank ; voltage dropped by 1.4V at-20C after Miralube was added to 15BN

 

             b.  Fuel efficiency

                ① Moved 138.5km after mixing Miralube with 30L of 15BN302

                ③    Moved as far as possible after mixing Miralube with 20L 30

 

           Test ①② result, energy comsumption was reduced by over 10%

 
 

Conclusions

 

 

To investigate the effect of Mira-Lube  additive on the wear performance and physical properties, studies were conducted. Two samples were used and compared, consisting of commercial engine oil without a Mira-Lube additive, and with a Mira-Lube. On the basis of performance results, Mira-Lube additive formulated Engine oil showed better wear performance and oxidation stability compared with commercial engine oil.

 

There fore when the Mira-Lube additive adds in conventionalLubricating oils such as engine oil, industrial oil and etc, It is deduced to Be found the highly effective performance and not any chemical Reactions between additive.
